Why You Should Use Hand-Crafted Soap

Did you know that most people have never actually used soap? Take a look at the bar/bottle of commercial “soap” sitting in your bathroom right now. Commercial soap found in stores is made with chemical detergents, hardeners, and synthetic lathering agents. These chemicals are often the reason for dry or irritated skin and also make them ineligible to be called or labeled as soap.

Natural Coconut Oil
We use all natural oils in our soaps from a company that is NON-GMO USDA Certified as well as Rain Forest Alliance Certified!

According to the FDA’s official website:

Not every product marketed as soap meets FDA’s definition of the term. FDA interprets the term “soap” to apply only when:

  • the bulk of the nonvolatile matter in the product consists of an alkali salt of fatty acids and the product’s detergent properties are due to the alkali-fatty acid compounds, and
  • the product is labeled, sold, and represented solely as soap [21 CFR 701.20].

By producing hand-crafted soap we naturally create glycerin in our bars.  Glycerin is a humectant that attracts moisture from the air to the skin. Some commercial “soaps” remove the glycerin to sell for extra profit to be used in cosmetics, pharmaceuticals, and skin products. Without glycerin, these commercial “soaps” are not nearly as skin loving as our hand-crafted bars! Your skin is your largest organ. What are you putting into it?
